Abstract: Tw o kind o fw aterborne polyurethane prepo lym ersw ere synthesized,w hich w as phenyl- isocy-anate term inated and a liphatic isocyanate term inated respectively. The effects of emulsifica tion tem peratureand so lvent on the properties o f their em ulsions andcoatings w as discussed. Since the temperature and sol-vent changed the rheo log ica l behav iors o f the emu lsions during the emu lsification,the properties o f the finalemu lsions w ere changed. The polyurethane prepolym ers,because of the difference of reactiv ities o f term ina-ted isocyanates w ill be emu lsified at d ifferen t tem perature.The optim al em ulsification tem perature and theso lvent am ountw ere optim ized in the experim ents. Andthe vo lum e average partic le sizes of the polyurethaneemu lsions w ere below 50 nm, w hich prov ided goodfilmperform ance. 水性聚氨酯涂膜耐磨性好、光泽高、附着力好, 具有优良的综合性能, 可以用于纸张上光、木器、玻璃纤维等的涂装。异氰酸酯基团封端的水性聚氨酯 (W PU )预聚物的扩链反应可以在水分散体中进行, 在得到高相对分子质量的聚氨酯水分散体的同时, 分散黏度不会大幅度升高。改变聚氨酯的分子链结构和微相分离结构将改变最终涂膜性能, 而分散以及分散过程中的扩链反应都对聚氨酯的分子链结构和乳液性能产生影响, 从而改变了最终涂膜的性能。水性聚氨酯分散过程中各种工艺条件, 如中和方式、转速、加水速度、扩链剂的加入方式等都对分散结果有一定影响 , 实验发现分散温度对活性不同的异氰酸酯封端的聚氨酯预聚物的影响不同, 除此之外, 溶剂用量对乳液的分散稳定性也有很重要的影响。
